LED performance is an increasingly popular, highly visual act ideal for almost every sector of the entertainment industry. LED is perfect for venues which cannot support fire performance and clients who want something customisable and modern. Katie has multiple pieces of programmable LED pixel equipment which can display images, messages and even company logos. Katie can perform LED as a solo performer, as a duo or even as a five person troupe.

LED Info and FAQs:

SOLO LED: Katie's LED skill set includes- programmable pixel poi, pixel staff, pixel Levi stick, LED ball poi, LED wings. Since LED performance is focused on the light trails rather than performer themselves Katie tends to wear dark clothing for this act but can adapt on request. Customised programming must be requested in advance and cannot be promised on the day, standard images include colourful patterns and shapes, non branded and inoffensive. LED is suitable for a short high impact show or a longer ambient style sets.

LED DUO: along with the above equipment the duo act will benefit from additional skills and equipment which the secondary performer specialises in. Duo shows also feature choreographed sequences and have a greater sense of flow. Again customised programming needs to be discussed in advance.

LED TROUPE: the LED troupe act is perfect for those who really want to make a big impact. Available with 3 or 5 person routines the troupe acts are futuristic and feature multiple skillsets and technology. Pixel kit is always available to be programmed into the troupe show allowing for surprises and custom elements to really wow guests.

LED FAQS:

What is Required?

A: A dark setting- LED is best performed in dark lighting states regardless of ambient or show, lighting on stage can certainly enhance the performance but LED is never recommend for bright daytime events. Four outdoor events after dusk is ideal.

How much space is needed?

A: Due to the flowing nature of the props and high speed of the performer a reasonable space is required, ideally 3x3m per performer to allow for easy rotations.

How does it work?

A: LED performance works because the human eye speed causes us the see trails of lights left behind due to the high speed of the performance movement. The rows of lights in the equipment generate an image then this becomes visible when being moved rapidly during performance.

Can LED be ambient?

A: LED is a great ambient perofrmance option! Ideal for background interest and events where guests are arriving over a longer time period or having a drinks reception. Unlike fire it does not need refuelling after being used, LED equipment has long performance battery time available so ambient sets are uninterrupted.

I want Fire and LED- is that possible?

A: Absolutely! When booked for fire Katie always packs LED as an alternative in case of unsuitable weather or unknown venue restrictions. Often clients request fire for the first ambient set as guests arrive followed by LED indoors later on.

What are the benefits of LED over Fire?

A: Minimal equipment means performers do not need to bring fire safety kit, storage or fuelling stations for LED. They can be programmed with any images, messages or logos, including flames for events who want fire but cannot have the real deal. LED requires no fuel so therefore does not require prep time or cleaning time. Battery life allows for multiple performance sets.

Is the troupe always the same?

A: The troupe has 3 LED numbers available. All 3 are similar in length and focus on choreo, synchronicity and specialist props. The troupe is mixed gender.

Why can't my phone capture the show?

A: The speed of a standard phone video capture lens is not suitable for recording LED performance. It is far better enjoyed by the human eye. However using professional recording equipment where the shutter speed can be altered it can be possible to film your LED entertainment.

Can you have a go?

A: with the performance equipment- unfortunately not. You should never touch a performer's props unless they give you permission- they could be preset for performance but most importantly LED equipment is expensive and fragile. If you want to try the skillset you can book a circus workshop or have-a-go workshop for specific skills for the event.
