Happy Easter Everyone! This easter has been lovely and I’ve had some really nice gigs. We kicked off the weekend for the Jockey Club at Haydock Racecourse priding stage shows throughout the day featuring Johnny and myself and as much danger, daredevil stunts, contortion and magic as we could squeeze in. Plus our awesome walkabout team providing ground entertainment amongst the guests including close up magic, unicycle juggling and acrobats.
I then popped over to Leeds to assist Michael Diamond in an escapology show and sideshow in association with Leeds Magic Circle which was great fun and attracted large crowds to the cultural quarter.
Easter Sunday and Monday I enjoyed a (now much rarer) spot of face painting, firstly at the lovely Barton Grange hotel at their Easter family dinner and fun day, then at one of my favourites… Walsall Leather Museum for their bank holiday activities day which is always super busy and lots of fun. The weather was perfect too and I got chance to paint in the sunshine all day.
We also had a handful of fun gigs throughout the month working with various members of the troupe, its been a super busy one!
We entertained in Sheffield with a lovely corporate show featuring the ringmaster, aerialist, unicycle juggler and LED which I tackled myself busting out my new deluxe pixel poi which was so much fun!
The very next day was crazy busy, Johnny and myself headed all the way down to Okehampton in Somerset where we met up with Claudia the contortionist and Voltini who hosted us at The Rock ’n’ Roll Circus first show. It was a really cool event produced by a local band who wanted to play between circus acts- an awesome concept and nice to catch up with lots of lovely people.
At the same time we had 9 other members of the home troupe raising the circus tent at an unbelievable birthday party! Aerial, acrobats, fire performers, stilt walkers, escapologists, magicians, jugglers, danger performers, they had the most action packed evening ever…. and of course our amazing team didn’t disappoint when I asked for a group photo!
We wrapped things up with a last minute show at the HAC (Honourable Artillery Company) in London, which was a stunning military venue.
Now onto a few days of making some exciting new costumes!
I also made a new prop this month ready for some shows later in the year… it doesn’t look friendly.
