Christmas 2020: performing in a pandemic

The stress (both financial and emotional) continues in this weird covid world. The government cannot make up their minds, firstly we were going to all be allowed three days of complete freedom of movement over the Christmas period to visit loved ones, then as people began to get over excited, breaking the rules and leaving earlier and cases immediately soared they changed their mind and suggested we don't meet up for Christmas. But one thing was for certain we weren't going to get any of our regular Christmas events. No grottos were open or allowed to go ahead. No venues were having festive entertainment and in general, everyone was erring on the side of caution, so we had to think outside the box on how we could deliver some festive cheer and earn some money for Christmas 2020.

We decided a good approach was to sell, goody boxes and deliver them by hand ensuring we stayed outside either in front gardens or on doorsteps. With a special surprise, we made sure the goody boxes contained naughty and nice things, such as practical jokes, slime, sweeties, candy canes, colouring books and more to keep little ones busy and arranged delivery by time slots across 4 different towns.

Our doorstep visits were a huge success- though box assembly did take over our living room! We managed to spread some Christmas joy in a challenging Christmas and keeping everyone safe in the process.

Merry Christmas! X
